Despite Nikon Lawsuit, Viltrox Says It Isn’t Adjusting Its Product Roadmap

It was recently reported that Nikon was suing lens maker Viltrox in China over Nikon's Z-Mount patent. Viltrox has officially broken its silence on the matter, sharing with PetaPixel a lengthy statement about the company's imminent and long-term plans and its continued belief in the value of diverse lens ecosystems.

Nikon introduced the Nikon F SLR back in April of 1959, so this year is the 60th anniversary of the popular camera system. To celebrate, the Nikon Museum in Tokyo created a poster with a timeline of F-mount bodies. The poster features 169 different camera models and costs ¥1,200 (~$11). It’s a limited edition product so it’ll be gone once it sells out. Unfortunately for photographers who don’t live in the Tokyo area, there may not currently be a simple way to order this poster and have it delivered, so your best bet may be to try and snag one later on from a reseller. P.S. Here’s a bit of interesting trivia: did you know that the Nikon F was named after the ‘f’ in “re f lex”?
